Update of 28th December of 2020

The first vaccines against the pandemic of Covid-19 have started to be applied to the first groups of citizens in Europe during the last days of year 2020. It is an important advancement and many citizens are deeply grateful to the women and men researchers that have made possible the advances of science for this purpose. We include some interesting press news, and we may notice that many of the advances were stopped, in several cases, due to lack of financial support. It is important to think about the failures in the management procedures for financial support to science. Regarding health we should not only be led by the short term interests of industrial producers, but also to provide public support to many clever researchers with interesting projects.

The pandemic of Coronavirus has had an strong effect on universities of many cuntries, with schools closed and students leaving campuses. On line teaching has contributed to finish the academic course, but other solutions should be found to develop some activities at universities.

In our Blogs on international development we include comments about the relevance to support researchers, not only when pandemic comes, but also with prevention aims before the pandemic arises.

In both Blogs we include testimonies of researchers who declare that interesting research projects, related with Coronavirus did not receive enough financial support before the pandemic of 2020.

University cities are waiting for solutions both for health and for economic perspectives.

Scientific research, mainly for health and also for economic recovery must be supported.
